  • Children’s of Alabama is the 10th busiest pediatric medical center in the United States and treats ill and injured children from ever country in the state in addition to children from across the region and nation.
  • In 2013, Children’s of Alabama provided care to nearly 14,000 inpatients and had over 650,000 outpatient visits.
  • The Alabama Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders at Children’s of Alabama treats over 90% of Alabama children diagnosed with cancer or blood disorders.
  • In 2013, the Alabama Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders provided care to:
    – 300 children receiving active treatment for cancer
    – 150 children newly diagnosed with cancer
    – 940 children with sickle cell disease
    – 60 children newly diagnosed with a brain tumor
    – 30 children needing blood or bone marrow transplants
  • Children’s of Alabama works to develop community relationships and coordinates fundraising activities to aid the mission-driven initiatives of the hospital. Our goal is to build a strong financial base for the hospital’s future.
