  • The Alabama Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders at Children’s of Alabama treats over 90% of Alabama children diagnosed with cancer or blood disorders.
  • The Center has more than 300 dedicated pediatric healthcare professionals.
  • 84% of children diagnosed with cancer in 2019 will be cured.
  • State-of-the-art screenings have reduced the rate of stroke in sickle cell patients by 90%.
  • The Center is 1 of only 21 sites nationwide to participate in the Children’s Oncology Group Pediatric Early Phase Clinical Trials Network (PEP-CTN), which allows our families to have access to the newest drugs and most promising clinical trials.
  • Children’s of Alabama works to develop community relationships and coordinates fundraising activities to aid the mission-driven initiatives of the hospital. Our goal is to build a strong financial base for the hospital’s future.
  • Children’s of Alabama is a private, not-for-profit hospital governed by a volunteer board of trustees.
