Fuller Goldsmith

Written by:

Fuller Goldsmith was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia in April of 2007 at the age of 3.  He was treated at the Alabama Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders at Children’s of Alabama. Fuller successfully completed treatment in July of 2010.  The Goldsmith family wanted to give Fuller’s illness a purpose, so in May of 2009, a fundraiser for Children’s of Alabama was held in their hometown of Tuscaloosa.  “Fuller’s Festival” raised more than $100,000 for the Alabama Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders at Children’s of Alabama. The Goldsmith family has continued other fundraising endeavors as well.  Fuller’s sister, Lele, became involved by creating her own fundraiser to provide video games for patients to play with during lengthy treatments.

In April of 2011, Fuller’s leukemia relapsed.  He is currently in remission and responding well to treatment.  His therapy will continue until 2014.  The Goldsmith family is committed to raising awareness of the vital role Children’s of Alabama plays in our community in saving the lives of our children with the latest advancements in the treatment of childhood cancer.
